What Gurus Did Not Want You To Know About Adsense
Alvin Phang
del.icio.us it! | reddit it! | stumble it!

If you noticed recently, I have just remove Adsense on my website the reason was because of my research recently, I have found out something very shocking about Adsense revenue that many Gurus claim that made them 5 figures.

It started on Oct 2005 when Google introduce Smart Pricing. What is smart pricing all about is that in the past when Adsense started, in order for someone to bid a keyword they have to spent like $30 just to advertise a keyword for top ranking.

With the new smart pricing, Google is not making more money from implementing it. But what it allows is advertisers in Adsense to be able to bid for keywords with a much cheaper price!

So.. what happen was… example keywords like insurance used to be maybe $30 per click before Oct 2005 became only $1 per click. It almost a 3000% drop in price which made a lot of Adsense Gurus go crying that what they used to earn like 5 figures now became around 3 figures. So if you see website that claim huge Adsense cheques most of it are before Oct 2005! Now you know why.. =P

Those that seriously made a lot from Adsense, are the people with seriously track lot of traffic maybe close to 1,000 per day! Imagine the number of clicks they get =P of course they make money! But do you have that capability? Not many would have I say =)

So what is the next best thing to do if you were in their position not able to earn Adsense money? Create product .. cos A LOT of people even myself thought Adsense can really made huge cash in a short period. But the truth is it can be done but… you will need A LOT of traffic to your site. As now it takes more efforts to get more click through for your Adsense sites and traffic don’t just come like tomorrow you want visitor it will come. It takes time and effort to get traffic =)

I have yet to see anyone showing Adsense cheques from their sites from Adsense so far the most I saw was a few dollars a days from other people website. If you know anyone please put the person website in the comment box below.. =)

So what can you do if you already decided that hey.. if what Alvin say is truth… what should I do with my Adsense website? Well a few things you can do…. generate more traffic to get more clicks… or promote affiliate products online.

One such affiliate product I created was BlogCashGuide.com, which I seriously spent a lot of time in to create the videos and people seriously learn how they can start creating a blog like mine.

Why Affiliate is because. One Adsense click you make 10 cent, but one sale from a affiliate program you can easily made US$25 from my own program which is better? You decide =)

Hi Alvin,

Of course affiliate program is better that why I am doing affiliate marketing and is in the process of creating my own products. If can, why not benefits from the both world. Adsense and affiliate work together.

If you noticed.. why most Gurus have no affiliate links? cos they focus on selling the affilate programs which is where the money is =P

and also.. what I noticed after I remove my adsense there are more click throughs for my affiliates =P

Hi Alvin,

Interesting article about what does gurus don’t want us to know about Adsense. I’m struggling with my own site right now. Got a mere average of $0.10 per day from Adsense since day one. What did I do wrong? - Teffy

Hey Teffy,

I saw your website… you need to not put advertisements everyone.. I see nothing but advertisements.. =P

You may want to change your Adsense site to blogs, forums, or member sites which can get traffic.

Or you can write articles to promote your this site to drive traffic or exchange links do SEO for your site to get traffic =)

You can get more examples in more detail at http://www.BlogCashGuide.com if you would want to find out more.. =)

I totally agree with this post. Adsense is way over hyped. Being able to pick a product to promote is so much better.
