Some Extra Tips

There are many wonderful networks out there, but do not be a hero and go a head and sign up for all the networks even thought it all free :) What you should do is just select one of the many networks and focus on promoting on once niche with one product to get the maximum results.

I have been in this business for 2 years already and I also do train people how to make money online and what I realized many people fail because they try to do too much stuff at one time. Just trust my word, if you actually just focus on selling just one product and drive lots of traffic to it ( and I mean REALLY LOTS of it ), you will see the results you want :)

If you have no clue which network to start with, I would highly recommend you can sign up with Clickbank , that was what I first started off and until today that is where most of my money is also made from too :)

Missing a network you like to add to the list? Just comment below your preferred Ad Network or Affiliate Network :)

Wow! so many Affiliate programmes and Ad Networks. You are right that we are looking for trouble if we try to to use everyone of them. One suggestion! Maybe you also want to rank them in term of ease of use or earn money from the programme and Ads.

Is AdSense too common to be listed?

Alvin, Thanks for the great list of resources. I would be interested to know if ClickBank is still your preferred affiliate program, or if there is another one you have listed that you feel is better? Thanks for the great post!

I guess there’s just too many affiliate programmes to mention all of them. As it is, when one starts a blog, it’s a matter of testing & experimentation to see which ad network or affiliate programme works best for that particular blog.

Perhaps it would be good if Alvin could share his personal experience with one or two of his better earning programmes. I’m looking forward to that post!

Keep on blogging!

My favorites are adsense and ebay…I do use commission junction and clickbank though adsense & ebay seem the most consistent for me. You are right about not spreading yourself too thin!

Alvin,
Love your blog - I’m curious to know how do you go about selecting which affiliate networks you will join? As you said, there are so many - can you share your experience with some of these affiliate networks?

Alvin,

I am running the affiliate program for my new site with ClickBank, but I am doing things a little differently and I wondered about your opinion.

Instead of just providing a hoplink and depending on cookies to track the sales, I am saving the ClickBank affiliate ID of the person who referred the visitor along with that visitor’s subscribe information.

In the future when the visitor gets follow-up emails the affiliate ID is automatically inserted again into the link. Each time they click the link–even if they don’t buy–the ClickBank affiliate’s cookie gets re-written on the visitor’s computer.

That way if someone subscribes without buying on the initial visit, deletes his cookies regularly, but buys six months later, the affiliate still gets the commission.

This is for my http://www.LifeFoc.us membership site.

Also, what is your thinking on commissions? Right now I am paying 75%. In the long run will that actually create MORE interest or is that a myth?

I totally agree with Alvin not putting adsense on the list, they will disable your account at any given time, trust me mine did. It could be around when your expecting your first BIG payment. Been there done that, that’s why my back is turned to them. I know some of you are having great success with Adsense and I hope it continues but you have been warned! Great Post Alvin!
