When you are making money online, there are really lots of things to do before you consider selling affiliate programs that many people always fail to do before they start their business.
Here are 3 simple ways you can use today that will boost your business.
Tip #1 - Start To Track Your Affiliate Links
Many students that I work with always like to say they tried selling affiliate programs and have not make a single cent. If you are one of them, you will find this really useful so please read on.
When I started asking how many clicks or people actually saw those programs most people who claim they cannot make money cant tell me the answer! You know why? That’s because they did not bother to track it.
Tracking affiliate links will help you know exactly how many people saw that product you are selling. The number of clicks to a product is really important when it comes to selling online. On the average every 100 people who see somethign online 1% of them would buy.
Tip #2 - Sell High Ticket Items
If you are into making money online, you will realized popular Gurus who make millions online do not just sell small ticket items. In fact from experience most of them actally made their millions from selling really high ticket items.
Although it maybe harder to sell, but let say if you sell a $1,000 product. You get 50% commission for every sale and instead of 1% conversion of 100 clicks you may need about 300 clicks to get one sale but overall you still earn more right?
Tip #3 - Start To Cloak Your Links
When selling affiliate programs, you would want to try your best to ensure the links that you put on your website or blog does not look like a link to sell stuff.
The best way to do this is to cloak your links. Here’s an example of a usual affiliate link.

Instead of that ugly link you can cloaked it and created a link like

So that’s it guys, just try this out for at least a week and do post your results below. If you like this post you may want to subscribe to this blog ![]()

Nice post… Really appreciate that you spread the word on “Affiliate Programs”… Getting affiliate products and selling it is easy to people who don;t have their own product. Thanks again!
Based on my experience, it’s easier to recommend and sell those products that I have bought and find them of good value.

Great tips, but now I like to know what is the best method of tracking software and how one goes about doing this cloaking technique. Any comments on Clickbank’s TOS, which states they do not approve of their links being cloaked. Thanks
I have a question about cloaking links?
I read somewhere that search engines don’t like cloaking and may punish you for that(lower your rank). Is that the same type of cloaking or is this link cloaking different?
Search Engine do not like people great too many fake cloak links that goes to the same web site url.
The cloak urls I am talking about is you create a folder maybe call recommend on your root and another folder maybe atomic.
So you have a url like http://www.gathersuccess.com/recommend/atomic/
In that folder you can do a redirect to program you want to promote.
What search engine do not like, is you spam and create multiple cloak links that goes to the root. Search engines do not like those…
Good tips here.
Since we’re talking about link cloaking, I might as well share a simple tutorial to cloak your affiliate link and protect your affiliate sales in 3 simple steps. You can find it at:

Thanks for explanation Alvin.
Also thanks VernLai for redirect method tutorial. Will use that on my affiliate site.
I must admit I have been guilty of not tracking my links but I am pretty new and have been teaching myself so it takes a little time. I have actually been looking for a good video on how to use cloaking software and I have been using redirects with cpanel which is pretty easy to do. Anybody that does not have cpanel on their hosting do yourself a favor and get it.
Alvin have you done any posts on using cloaking tools? Would be cool because I know a lot of them will even track your links too!
Thanks,
Jason
Thanks Alvin and Vernlai,
I got in a hurry and posted and did not see the tutorial you mentioned. Plus I get a little frustrated when I post because I don’t spell worth a hoot! Would also like to mention since that opens up the door that I have seen many comments on here about spelling and grammar and speaking english and such, so Alvin this is for you! First of all Alvin I have seen you comment a few times on not being able to speak good english. Not only do I have a hard time speaking english and grammar, etc… but I am from the US. I could not even imagine trying to learn another language like you have when I can’t even perfect my own!!! Secondly it is plain to see as night is day you are such an honest guy who really does want to help other people learn and it shows in your work and that puts you in probably the top 1% of other marketers out there and really this is the only blog I ever even stay interactive in because of that very reason alone! Rock on Alvin!!! and anyone else whos worried about it don’t. I can tell you right now that I never even think twice about how the message was written, but the “message” is what counts!
Sincerely,
Jason
