Do You Have A Strong Core Desire To Succeed?
Alvin Phang

family1.jpg

The photo you see above is my motivation to succeed in life! After attending Jack Zufelt’s seminar I thought I share about my own core desire why do I want to succeed so much in my life.

One main reason I worked to hard to build content for my blog and generate cash online was to support my family. But of my own family the one I really love the most was my dad.

A bit of my dad, he used to have store at Parkway Parade ( A Local Shopping Mall ), at which at that time he just owns a store selling Claypot rice for nearly 18 years named after me called “Alvin’s Claypot”. Business was great at that time but it got worst during 1997. So what happen next my dad went to be a taxi driver later on.

It was a good thing that he shift to taxi driving as it gives him less things to do and he had more time at home to rest. But one sad moment happened just last year.

I remember as if it was just yesterday back in June 2006 when I just started on my Internet Marketing activities my dad actually met into a car accident! Just imagine my dad was the only person in my family at that time supporting us with my sister studying, my brother studying and my mum only working part time. Suddenly all was put to a hold and my dad was in real trouble!

Thanked God after 1 month being in the hospital, my dad recovered pretty well but still have some problems with his memory as the accident damaged his brain.

Here’s photo of my dad in during one his monthly check ups

family2.jpgWhat you see on the left is my dad getting ready for a check up. He is doing great now and what I learn from this incident is that I took lots of things for granted when my dad was doing ok.

At times when I was doing my part time business or working, I was so lazy and never wanted to do more to make money. As unknowingly I was actually a spoilt brat who only knows at that time how to ask for things and normally I do get it as my parents can afford it at that time.

When that accident happen, because my dad so called not well my mum has to constantly look after him while my other siblings had to study I was the only reminding person to take care of MY WHOLE FAMILY! And I was only 24 years old at that time.

At that age most of my friends who knew me did not know I had this problem and I was facing a moment in my life when I was so afraid of failure! It was because I cannot afford to fail! I MUST succeed because my whole family are depending on me only to make money.

So after that incident it totally changed my mindset with also God’s help I changed so much in the way I do things now than any 24 year old because I got huge responsible that I feel seldom 24 years old do handle.

My goal for the year was to be able to give back all my dad have given me all my 25 years that I am around and I wish to earn enough to be able to travel and enjoy the things in life with my parents which they truly deserved after working for so long =)

Some Fruit of Thought

If you are currently working or doing a business everything seems not working for you at the moment take some time off to reflect back on the things you have at the moment that you hardly see. Learn embraced what you took for granted and thank the people who gave you. From there set a goal and plan to achieve better things in your life and search for your core desire to succeed in life!
