I signed up. I love fourms when they are still in their low traffic phases. You really get to know the people and your posts really get read. I think offering an incentive to post is a wonderful idea.
That is a kind of evil way to promote your forum. But it is a very effective way too.

I have a little radio control forum (http://www.private-aircraft.biz), which I operate since 2005.
The traffic is very very similar with the traffic on the road because….my forum mainly consists of 3 types of people, (1) Who come to ask for help, (2) Who come to help, (3) Who just come to see people help other people. And type #3 is the biggest group. It is like the scene of accident. Most of the people just come to see people to be rescued. Your strategy attract the type #4 of people (which I didn’t do it), the people who come to earn $$$ (the toll car). Great job, Alvin.

You’ll see an increase in people wanting to get paid to post in a forum,if you haven’t already.But I see it is closed.
