Blogging Vs Internet Marketing
I just realized that I am quite lucky myself as I got the combination of both a blogger’s experience and so called internet guru status. I was just back from a workshop and I thought I share this experience with you guys in hopes to give you some ideas how it feels like.
When I first started my journey to Internet Marketing which I was exposed to it about 1 year ago, I really never thought of what niche I should go for. While trying to figure out what I was really passionate about, I decided to setup a blog to talk about my experience about my online business.
I seriously NEVER once expected I would be serious about it where I am today because I was taught to only do article marketing at that time. But for some reason I was addicted to blogging because I noticed traffic kept coming to my blog as I blog more.
Slowly as times go back I had some success from my blogging efforts so I decided to come out my first blog product here. To be real honest that product was not that successful but I did get sales from creating that product and funniest part that product was created purely because my students were having trouble blogging. In that product it was filled with tons of video tutorials and I even give out free video tutorials.
After that experience I realized money can actually be made from telling people my own experience in blogging I was shocked! At that moment I had experience both a nice income from both the product and blogging income.
Based on feedback got from customers and students there was a huge demand for detailed instructions guide of what I do so I decided to update my first product but a friend of mine stopped me from doing that and ask me to create a new product instead. Which then came my latest product here.
That product was seriously a major upgrade of the first product and I shared so much in it then I think I updated more then what I at first thought was possible.
Then after that because of my success from that project I was suddenly labeled as a “guru”. Seriously it’s not a nice name, I would rather people called me an expert or trainer then a guru. Because gurus do not care about people but trainers and experts do =)
I maybe young now and even though I may looked successful but what I can tell you that I am now more stress then ever because I now know my formula to success and I am only left 3 months more to make $70,000. My goal is to reach $100,000 by this year and I wont stop until I am there. I think having a strong goal is really important and I really got to thank Ewen today who created a great workshop have reminded me again that we just got to keep things simple and duplicate that again and again.
If you got any further comments just comment below =)

Hi Alvin,
I attended your seminar on the 28th August 2007 and eagerly looking forward to attend your training workshop on 13th Sept 2007.
Your shown sincerity and conviction in wanting to help others to succeed. Your hands on approach ( not like other theory kings )convinced me you are the right person I wanted to learn from. Without hesitation I immediately signed up for the workshop.
I am new to blogging.
I know I will learn much from you .
I want to be an effective blogger like you.
I also believe in sharing and helping one another to be successful.
Sincerely,
Andrew Chen
Yes while we like to talk about our experiences, at least we can keep a distance from being narcissistic by keeping our narrations as helpful to many as possible!

I learned quite a few pointers by the seminar you’ve conducted on Aug 28 and now kinda bursting with energy ahead of the upcoming workshop on Sept 13.
Though I need to keep my feet on the ground a bit, the important thing about making money in any sort of business (I believed) is focus and determination.
As long we can keep that in our mind (which kinda of difficult sometimes), the secret will be reveled to us one way or another.
Million thanks to Alvin for the seminar, kinda an eye-opener for myself personally. I hope you’ve attained your goals as what you’ve mentioned in this fine article.

Hey Alvin,
I really hope that you will continue to share your personal experiences with us, because your story is really inspirational. It helps us to realize that those of us who are just starting out can achieve some measure of success, as you have – no matter how elusive it may seem at times.
Perhaps another term that is more appropriate than ‘guru’ would be ‘mentor’.
All the best,
Kat Bartone

Wow you attended Ewen’s workshop! As a trainer?
But goes to show how important it is to continue learning and having goals, guru or not.
