How To Make Money from Niche Blogging

Niche blogging is becoming more and more popular as it is a way for people to make a living.  You see more and more advertisements for this and more and more people flocking to find out how to do it.  Guess what?  That is actually a form of niche blogging.  By definition, it is blogging for the sole purpose of marketing to a select group or niche for the purpose of making money.  If you have popped open one of these sites, you already know how effective it can be.

In order to be successful at this, you need to select a niche that will be well represented and will actually be interested in what you have to say.  If for instance you are blogging about how ice melts, do you really think you are going to get hits and attract people?  No, of course not, but if you are blogging about how you can consistently win at poker, your site will probably light up like a Christmas Tree!  Here are some of the top niche’s to blog about:

- News
- Tech
- Culture
- Politics
- Web development/design
- Marketing
- Blogging
- Gossip
- Making money online
- Gambling

Now that you have a list of what the most popular items are you need to choose one that you can make money at.  This may seem like an easy thing to do but be careful.  Making the wrong decision will mean that you are just wasting your time.  You need to consider a few things before diving in.

You need to ask yourself, what niche do you actually know about and will be able to contribute steady content to.  What are the current blogs lacking that you can provide that will set you apart?  Is this a topic that will capture you an audience that will generate income?  Is your topic becoming more popular or has it fizzled out?  You need to answer each and every one of these before going forward.

Also, do not be scared to blog about something just because nobody else is doing it.  Someone had to start each and every one of these topics at one time or another and it is always better to set the path than to get in on the action when it already well ender way.

It is now time to move to the next stage where you are actually going to generate income from your site.  This is done by creating affiliate links and even having a for pay newsletter.  Creating links that will allow people to buy something or open an account with another company are usually commission based.

If an individual takes your link to a a site, it is tagged and you will get a piece of any income that the other site generates from them.  Just about every website around offers this program.  Just go to the bottom of their page and look for an affiliate button.  Click on that and you are on your way.

Same thing goes regarding newsletters.  You are realistically only giving people a taste of your knowledge with a blog.  If you make the article too long, you will lose the casual reader.  The people you are going after in your newsletter are the ones that want more information and want it to be much more in depth.

You can generate income off of them by gathering a mailing list of people that are willing to pay for a newsletter that you will put out on a weekly or monthly basis.  Put a sample of it up on your site so they can see what they are getting.

Making money from niche blogging is not as difficult at you would think.  Most people start out like gangbusters and then lose interest.  You have to realize that like anything else, the more work you put into it, the more likely you are to get something out of it.  Good luck on creating and earning money with your niche blog!
