Since the launch of BlogRush and all the hype created all around the internet which is what John Reese is great at creating. Did this widget deliver as it says? Well almost everything presented in the video was there but for traffic you got to read on further to find out!

Here’s a look at my traffic graph from BlogRush

As you can see from the graph, I only refer a few people and it viral by itself with traffic increasing in the referral network and the overall traffic. But the traffic shown here is traffic from BlogRush only and from this blog you are reading so do not be so happy yet =P

What you see above are more details on the number of credits earned from BlogRush, the number of credit earned is determined by the number of times your widgets is ran on your blog + your referrals that have BlogRush installed. As you can see from the image above I had a total of 8,874 impressions.

The image above show the number of referrals you have in an mlm like style showing you number of referrals you have up to 10 levels. This is truly the amazing powerful of viral marketing in action =)

And finally this is what you should be looking at which actually shows you the number of clicks you get from other bloggers who post up the widget on their blogs. And the results was really stunting as I got a total of only 25 hits from other bloggers so far from that many impressions. Not a really great conversion I must say but it’s free anyway nothing much I can complain about. You can read another article by John here, he also did not really get great results about only 184 hits out of 56,287 impressions that only 0.3% conversion =P

My Thoughts on BlogRush

The key thing I noticed that many bloggers who implement BlogRush always place the widget at positions which is hardly visible to the readers. It is normally put in a position where readers hardly would view it. Because of that reason I feel that is the reason why the click through on the widgets were so bad.

But if you ask me they are smart because bloggers who put the widget at positions which is hard to find because that is not really what you want your readers to click. Why? Because my focus is for my readers to know more about me not others =) What is shown on the widget is extra news for others as there are no extra points given for people who click on the widget to read the news only based on the number of times the widget is shown!

So what people did was they created robots to keep on refreshing the browsers to get high impression rates from the widget and now it is causing a huge problem on the network.

Never the less, I still recommend trying it out and will check out what’s the overall results as it improves and I am still wondering what his one time offer will be later on. I do not believe John is so generous in providing a free service which has 4 million people on it and not earn a single cent? I will not suprised he will start some service or some sort later in the future for BlogRush.

Tips On Improving BlogRush Traffic

Use catchy titles on your blog post to attract attention, or you can do a fake announcements of BlogRush and blend in with the widget which may get better results. Because readers who are new to the widget and saw your story appearing on the widget may think that is part of the blog that has the widget. Do catchy titles that blends to blogs related to your post.
