The Money In Blogging Is In Consistency
Alvin Phang
del.icio.us it! | reddit it! | stumble it!

While I was interviewing John Chow just yesterday I realized something that really reflected why he was so successful as he was in blogging and the secret to his success was all about consistency.

I also remembered he mentioned, he actually make nothing in his blog in the first 8 months of blogging and I can totally related to what he says too as I did not make anything from this blog until about 6 months later.

I am into training people and helping also others online through my online book Atomic Blogging and what I realized many people who want to make money from blogging have one common problem.

They blog about things and post only about things you like to sell in their blogs. Most times these blogs would fail because they did not deliver power quality content where readers will bookmark your blog to learn more from you.

Here’s are a few things you can do today on your blog if you like to build a better relationship with your readers.

1. Start Thinking About What Your Readers Want To Read

It’s always great to write only on topics your readers would like to read, that way your readers can benefit from reading your blog and would want to spend more time learning from you later on in the future

2. Make It Easy For The Reader To Implement Your Tips

Most often people who write stuff or tips on their blogs may put too much complicated steps which many will find hard to follow. Always think in a beginner’s point of view you would do well, because the newbies markets is always much easier to please then the experts as most time they think they know everything already.

Alright that’s about it for today, got a cough and flu today… heading back to bed.. haha.. take care guys and if you have something you like to add on just post your comments below.

What you say makes perfect sense. Target the beginners because the experts already know what you have to say, they are experts after all. Also, from a SE point of view it’s not likely that an expert in a subject area would be searching for information about which they are an expert. I forget where I read it, but research suggests that the average person likes to read at a 6th grade level so it makes a lot of sense to simplify our writing whenever possible.

Take care of that flu and get well!

Well, I don’t just blame the marketers or “salesman” especially newbies for having “setup a niche blog and make money next week” mindset.

Most so-called gurus with tons of “get-rich-tomorrow” ebooks out there should accept big part of the sin.

Yeah, quoting John - If you blog for money, money will be the last thing you get. How true!

Most people forget about the service and value they should provide before money. It’s like putting the cart before the horse. It only guarantees disaster :)

Have a nice day!
