I agree with the premise of your article. Google especially likes back links, and they aren’t that easy to come by. At a minimum, you need register in the directories, start article writing, produce video’s, join and post on social networking sites, and maintain an active blog. This is in addition to making sure you have enough original and fresh content on the site.

There seems to be more mystique in SEO than there is an explaination about the hard work required to create and maintain a natural SERP position. If you do all of the above, you are doing what is required for SEO.
