I have about 3 hours to go to my flight and it’s actually 5:24am as I am writing this post. For some reason I just could not sleep and this topic just came to my mind. If you thinking of using blogs to market your business, you will find these 7 Golden Rules Of Blogging To Make Money Online will be really useful for you.

Golden Rule #1

Be honest in your post and only post valuable information that you feel your readers will benefit from. Never ever try to flame or blame anyone on your blog as what you may do to others it will surely fire back in the later future :)

Golden Rule #2

You need to update your blog as frequently as possible, preferred to post daily on your blog is the best way to keep your blog always fresh with new content every day. The reason you want to do that is to ensure your audience everyday they visit your blog there will be more content for them to learn from you.

Golden Rule #3

If you look at the top 100 blogs in Technorati, all of them have one thing in common. They do not use free blogging platforms like Blogger or Xanga to create their blogs. They all use the ever famous Wordpress on their blogs. If you want to be serious into blogging, it would be a great idea to get a host and a domain name and host your own wordpress blog.

Golden Rule #4

Have a strict habit to try to do marketing for your blog at least 1 hour a day by getting to know other bloggers to drive traffic to your blog. Traffic is key to blogging and you can never get enough of traffic :)

Golden Rule #5

Always insert a opt-in box to create a mailing list of subscribers on your blog. With that list you will be able to monetize from it later on as you progress into your journey into making money online. You can always click here to sign up for a free auto responder to start with :)

Golden Rule #6

Do not pitch too much on your blog, as loyal readers who read your blog normally only comes to your blog is because they want to learn something from you not to buy something from you. Instead of pitching you may consider going for the soft sell approach which is more effective.

Golden Rule #7

Never use a default theme template design that you get for free online. There are well over 115 million blogs online, if you use a theme that is commonly used online do you think that will make your blog or brand unique from the rest? The simplest thing you can do to brand yourself better is to create your own customized banner on the top left.

That’s it guys, these are my 7 golden rules you can follow if you are blogging online, if you like what you just read do remember to subscribe to my blog and left some comments about this post below.

Hi Alvin, I have one of a visitor mailing me saying that my sites have problem in loading pages cos she say that she waited for about 3 minutes and told me that my graphics has to bring down, so I was wondering if you can go to my site and see if it really loads 3 min…or if it loads too long , since I have no problem loading the page in my old computer I was wondering does the problem lies with her connection…thanks in advance.

Great tips! I´m doing all of them in my blog and they work! It is hard to come up with useful information on a daily basis (Rule #2), but I guess there are no alternatives.(I stumbled this blog post.)

Thanks for the 7 Golden Rules of Blogging. Good info for us fellow bloggers who are trying to learn.

Re: It is hard to come up with useful information on a daily basis (Rule #2).

Ask other bloggers to write a guest article or ask if you can have permission to use a really good post you have read on their blog. Most would be honored & appreciate the puplicity as well.

Doing this will certainly develop getting to know other bloggers. (Rule #4).
