It’s Looks Like Bloggers All Around Is Affect By Our Big G Brother
Just some new updates lately from some comments I read today about this article written by the people at PayPerPost.
Here’s one part of the article that really made be laugh
It is no coincidence that Google has gone after some blogs that utilize PayPerPost and many of our competitors services. We offer a very attractive alternative to AdSense and are leading a charge to provide real monetization for everyday bloggers. Unlike the Google AdSense black box, we are palms up when it comes to revenue share and give bloggers the lions share of advertising dollars that they deserve.
I find it laughable that high profile bloggers like TechCrunch aren’t being penalized in the same way. Perhaps it’s the fact that they use AdSense. Perhaps it’s the fact that they are silicon valley insiders and are invited to special Google events. Either way I don’t see the difference between a sponsored post in our system or this sponsored post. Both are paid for, neither use no-follow.
And there are large amount of rumors going around the blogsphere that the Page Rank that Google has, is starting to have no value in a way affect the search engine results. I can really related to that because although this blog is currently zero I still get search engine traffic from all the search engine online. So it Page Rank really that valuable now?
Just My Thoughts
Because Google has so called monopolized the whole game in search about every 10 people online ,5 people would use Google so they got quite a big market share to control what is going on the internet. And what I feel they are doing now is they are playing very hard people who use competitors services.
If you noticed my blog does not have Adsense but I am currently using other networks to earn ad space. Maybe if I start using non Google competitor’s will Google start to favor this blog.. haha. But I think they are also beginning to worry about their own Adsense model as people are earning less and less from their network and moving to other networks which gives more income in terms of getting paid per click.
A Few Signs On People Who So Far Never Get Page Rank Zero
- If you are invited to Google Events
- If you use Google’s product
- If you have a high number of RSS readers you will get Google’s favor
( There is a rumor they are adding also the number of feed readers as part of the ranking system in Google too.. hai.. I wonder when will this Google race ever end! )
Very soon any blogger who maybe not using blogger.com may not got a page rank even because I use a wordpress instead.. haha who knows =) But I feel they have big plans ahead of them especially when they launch Open Social now but if you ask me I used to be a SEO freak now I pretty much not care about it and focus on traffic generation from other ways of marketing online which I found it to be more effective.

Hi Alvin,
I think you misunderstood me.
Of course, there are people who are affected. As you said, advertisers are looking for sites that have higher PR. So those who are selling ads space on their blogs or websites are definitely hugely affected. Because this will decreased their revenues.
What I meant was the effect to normal people. Like teenagers, light web surfers, senior citizens ie Anybody who don’t use the Internet to generate income. They don’t care what is PR and they still think Google is the best. Because what they search, they get what they want. Google is trying to achieve that in that sense.
I ask one of my friend, who is also an undergrad, “Do you know what is PR?” She totally has no idea at all. Then I ask her why she like to use Google. She says she get her results. In that sense, at least Google is still doing a good job to “normal people”. Giving people results on what they search for.
I think Google want to dominate everything. But I think they are not the big G. I have a bigger and better G than Google. Haha Alvin I think you know what I mean.

Nice.. haha
Sorry I understand that I’m not commenting something about this topic. However, I just notice that http://www.gathersuccess.com front page doesn’t have PageRank anymore. I remeber it was about PR4. Did I see something wrong? it drops to zero.
There are so much hoo-haa over Google’s “policies” recently.
But those who are “annoyed” are usually those make-money-online people. That’s because Google has reduced their source of income.
But let’s think in term of normal people. Most non tech savvy people don’t even know what’s pagerank or pay-per-post or whatever make money online schemes.
They are just using Google to search for stuffs and Google are gearing towards them. Google are giving what they want, that’s relevant results.
If we are thinking in that direction, the situation is not that bad after all. Isnt it so?
Nope Alex you are wrong, if you do a search around the Internet many people recently are affected because lots of advertising companies use page rank as a way to judge the payment to a website advertising cost.
So let say mine is zero now if I go to some website because it’s page rank zero I cannot charge more for my advertising and advertisers normally always look at page rank before they order the banner.
Also another thing affecting many people is that what I feel they are doing is trying to dominate the whole online market and trying to shift everyone to their projects like Adsense.
But the strange thing is that Adsense income is getting lower and lower if you noticed and Adwords cost is getting higher which means they are getting greedy.. haha
I have been pondering over this and the very next moment, your post on the big G brother =) It reminded me of a guru who once shared not to be overly reliant on G. Indeed, it will be an endless G race. The underlying message is – be proactive rather than to be reactive.
No choice. We are always under the threat of Google. Whatever they want to do and whichever way, we will have to learn to suit their needs.
