Facebook Fans Sucks Big Time

It kind of funny when you heard so much media and how great social media is. I been using Facebook social media marketing for quite a while and here’s my take on Facebook fan page for you to consider.

1. You Can’t Add Friends No More

I read many books on Facebook marketing about adding friends and message friends to your fan page is all bull shit right now. If you ever tried it, even just adding 10 friends per day, there is a high chance your account gets banned or terminated so be careful :)

2. Advertising On Facebook Is Cheap But

I been advertising on Facebook quite a lot lately and here’s what I find out. My advertising cost for per click range from US$0.004 to US$0.30 per click which is very cheap compared to Google Adwords. I was also getting an average about 10 to 60 new fans daily to my fan page.

Some of my fan pages has 1,000+ fans, some has 6,000+ fans. However what I realized the average CTR for every message you put on your fan page is ranging from 1% to 5% only!

What’s worst the chances of them buying stuff is pretty slim, unless you are marketing something related to entertainment & games. I personally haven’t tried marketing games but I think it’s worth a try.

That’s because lots of people on Facebook play games on Facebook :)

3. Facebook Fans Is A Numbers Game

To get at least 1,000+ clicks for your messages, you really have to work hard to build a relationship with your fans online and get at least 10,000 or more fans then you would expect more click through.

That’s some tips for you, hope it helps :) If you been doing Facebook Marketing and like to share some thoughts on this topic please share them by commenting below.

How To Add Missing FBML Page To Fanpage

Recently I wanted to create a fan page to do a tutorial on my blog but I realized I faced a major problem I would not find a way to add in the FBML page to my fanpage. As Facebook has remove the ability to add FBML to my fan page and now prefers us to use iframes instead.

To insert iframe to fanpage, we have to generate a app code and host a website online and then add a canvus page to the app in order to add it which I felt was very troublesome especially for newbies.

The reason I do not really want to use canvus just yet although you can place your own website in an iframe. It say on the app canvas settings “Required: SSL Cert by October 1, 2011″. So I am not sure what will happen to all the canvas pages after that date. If you have any update on this please comment below to let me know :)

So I did a search around the internet and found a loophole to still allow you to add FBML pages to your fanpage using the official FBML app.

Here’s are the secret links:

  1. Click Here To Add 1st FBML Page
  2. Click Here To Add 2nd FBML Page
  3. Click Here To Add 3th FBML Page
  4. Click Here To Add 4th FBML Page
  5. Click Here To Add 5th FBML Page

Adding iFrame With An Auto Hide or Show On Like On Fanpage

If you prefer to use iframes, but do not know how to generate an app or all those complicated stuff I found a cool app to add iframes for newbies.

Tips To Reach The Potential of Facebook Marketing

To have a place to display your products, services, and websites for free is useful for any business; with facebook your potential customers are much closer to you than ever. It is not hidden that facebook can provide help for your online marketing. Facebook is the kind of marketing tool that you should use because of its plenty of advantages. However like any other networking sites, it takes lots of time to achieve the full potential facebook has to offer to your marketing.

Here are some few tips to help you reach the potential of Marketing via facebook.

1. Create a facebook profile page.

Create one that will be attractive to your targeted customers. It doesn’t need to be professionally made, however it will be an advantage if it is. Your page should be simple and effective. It should have the sufficient information to catch the interest of your target market. Make sure your Page’s profile picture is related to whatever your business or product is. Putting the most flattering facebook picture is an advantage. Use big pictures for your page, this helps in the “branding” and the building of trust to your profile.

2. Add Contacts.

As the saying goes, Do not wait for something to happen, do something to make it happen”. Initiate to add your most important contacts so you may have fast way of communication. This way you may also create a facebook community for your business. Add some of your friends because they may also help you in advertising your page, products or business.

3. Groups.

Creating groups is a very good idea, with this people can find you and contact you without being friends with them on facebook. Use facebook’s group features to connect and contact your business contacts and your whole company. Facebook’s group feature also helps you in reaching your target market and advertises to them. One of the features I like about the group is to be able to send messages directly to each of one of the members of the groups. Make sure the group members are quickly and steadily rising up so that your facebook marketing is easier and more efficient.

4. Constantly Update.

Having a unique page which consists of unique posts will surely add lots of fun and personality to your business. Interact with your customers, ask them questions, and help them to help you in making your business more people-friendly. Also, updating constantly increases the chances of your page appear more in your customers news feed. Your posts may not be only about your products or business you may occasionally share random things that go from funny videos to the breaking news.

5. Use other Social Networking sites.

Most people don’t only use facebook as a way of communicating; others use well-known social networking sites like twitter and youtube (make sure you post a link on each one of the networking sites that lead to your website).

Other tips I can give you is that be sure that you are thankful for your fans (those who follow your page) because without them your facebook marketing is inefficient. Also do treat your fans the way you want them to be treated.

Facebook Marketing Rules

Facebook, being the largest social networking site, has over 600 million users worldwide, makes it considerable to be called a “Marketer’s Paradise”.  Although Facebook is conceived by the people as an unclouded social networking site, it is without uncertainty taken over my Marketers all over the past couple of years.

What is the real secret of success in Marketing? Like in other circumstances in life, the secret is to know the rules, know the do’s and don’ts, prepare well and give your best shot. Well, in this article I will help discuss the Rules in Facebook Marketing.

1. PAGES not PROFILES. You can never go wrong with facebook Pages, unlike when creating a personal profile for your business, where you still need to be “friended” for your customers to interact with you. A fanpage for your Business relieves you from the hassle of accepting friend requests and receiving lots of notifications that you don’t really care about. With facebook pages, you can interact with your customers really well plus your Page has a better exposure which makes it easier for your page to be viral.

2. Name your URL’s after your business. For example: if your website’s URL is yourbusinesshere.com make sure your facebook page’s URL is facebook.com/yourbusinesshere . by doing this you are giving your customers only a single thing to remember which makes it easier for them to access your business.

3. Create pages with a rich user interface. Creating a nice page will make a good impression on your customers. Your facebook profile also contributes to your business’ identity so make sure you give your best shot because some first impressions are also the last.

4. Interact. Answer your customer’s queries, make promos and contests, post frequently, by doing this your followers will see more of your page and is like a free form of advertisement which is an asset for you. Also you may want to have a connection with your customers to make them feel that you care for them.

5. Don’t Spam. Do not ever over post your page with ads because this will surely decrease your followers and make them have a bad impression about your business. Make sure your posts are wholesome and are catchy. Be creative in your posts, because it will surely win the attention of your customers.  Make sure you only post on YOUR wall and not on others’

6. All things in excess are bad. Facebook is a herculean marketing tool so it is easy to get confused and over do things. Too much of marketing may harm your business. Start building trust and friendship with your targeted market, communicate with them. Just remember to do things moderately; doing things below the expectancy point is bad too.

To conclude this article, every business either big or small can use the promotional opportunities that facebook offers.  Be kind and thoughtful with facebook marketing. Do not do things in excess.  Be as honest as possible, people don’t like to get cheated on.  Go easy on your updates, posting every few hours is enough. The best thing to do is “know” what to do and DO IT WELL.

More businesses both macro and micro are actively reaching and engaging customers through Facebook. Facebook is a great tool to communicate to every people worldwide. Facebook marketing is one of the main tools online marketers use to find targeted customers online. Since Facebook receives too many visitors in every geographical locations making your marketing effort a piece of cake.

Here are few ways to make your Facebook marketing more fun and productive:

1. Create a Fanpage for your business or product.

Facebook users can “like” your business or product page, when that happens, your page will appear on the “news feed”. In the long run, more users will be able to find out about your Facebook Page through their friends’ profiles and Facebook searches, and your Page can grow “virally” without you even having to work really hard. Liking your page is similar to subscribing to your business or products.

2. Define who you want to reach.

Simply do the typical way marketing strategies. You may use your profile to share your latest promos and products.  Make sure your posts catches the attention of your fans because if they are interested in your posts they may like or comment, when that happens, your post will have a higher probability of showing in their news feed thus granting your page more exposure. Take note that you should not bloat your page with ads.

3. Use Facebook Ads.

With Facebook’s Ads platform, it is very easy to choose who to show your ads, to the extent that you may pick a specific age, gender, and geographic audience. Make sure you are very knowledgeable about what is trending today, people tend to like things that are trending, that way you may use that knowledge to create an advertisement that will hit the viewer’s eyes. Make sure your ads are abiding with facebook’s rules and regulations.  Keep your Ads simple but catchy, users tend to ignore Ads that looks too dull or too long. Ads are like women’s skirts they should be long enough to cover what needs to be covered and short enough to keep it interesting.

Facebook is made up of people, so you may want to connect with them. Make your customers feel like you can be a friend and not just a man who produces products, this way the costumers may build their trust in you and your products. You may also publish posts that are about what’s happening; it may be about you, what’s happening around you, this way your customers may feel close to you. Make sure you answer your customer’s inquiries especially when it is about your product.

I have never in my life will have thought I can grow such a big mailing list in less then 2 weeks with Facebook. What was interesting was, the more I played with Facebook advertising the more I enjoy using it :)

So far I only spend a total of USD$150 to test and learn to use the platform. The only problem now I have is converting these fans to sales which isn’t as easy as you can imagine. Well do some test campaigns and see how things goes and see what I can sell to these people on facebook.

After all, people on facebook are there to make friends not so much on buying stuff. But I think the only way to sell things is to push the offer as if a friend is recommending it or mention he’s using it :) Making the ad more social this way :)
