After about 2 weeks from painfully setting up the mobile campaigns I see some light just login my peerfly account today and made one sale! Here’s how much I made shown below:

So how much I spend to make $1.30? Well I spend $2.15  promoting that offer with 43 clicks to lead to one lead sale as shown below:

More Scary Findings With inMobi Ad Network

I did try to setup another ad campaign in inMobi ad network which I top up $50 already but so far for the past 7 days the ad is totally does not move even though it’s active! So beware guys of inMobi. I am not sure if everyone else is experiencing the same issue with me with inMobi but the campaign I created did not move!

My settings was to advertise all to USA in all mobile device but I am surprised the campaign in inMobi did not have a single click or impression so far.

Seems Like Mobile Marketing Is Not Easy

I may be wrong as I may be doing something not right, but so far what ever I did I just follow whatever Adam taught in the course. So I wont be surprised Mobile Monopoly gets a high refund rate on Clickbank :P So if you were wondering why I did not promote Mobile Monopoly that time to you guys because I wasn’t sure it will be a good product for you guys. Wanted to try it out first before I can said much about it :)

Coming from an experience marketer, the product is really good for newbies but I think what was really missing in the course there wasn’t much details on how to optimize my Mobile Ad campaigns which is REALLY important.

Going Back To Basics

It’s seems every marketer online is going towards mobile and facebook now and I was chatting with my buddy Joel lately who makes more then $4,000+ a month from Adwords. We hope everyone will go to facebook to advertise instead of adwords so that adwords pricing will decease and that will be good news for us.. haha

Anyway why I trust Joel was because I knew him way back the day I got started in IM so you can say that he and I were like IM buddies :P He actually just finish his degree but chosen to not find a JOB like everyone else but do the IM business full time.

He’s not doing it together with Alvin Huang another great buddy of mine. If you are interested to see how they do it, you can check out http://www.authorityjobkiller.com/ (no affiliate link) or simply click here to see them in action

Having Real Hard Time With Mobile Marketing

Has been a few days already but yet the clicks are not coming in :( Getting really frustrating wanting to spend money on Admob. Latest results can be view below:

Screen shot 2010-08-24 at AM 01.52.01

So far zero earnings to report but have spend $52.50. The 1st $50 was a mistake but the $2.50 that was spend during the past 3 days took damn long!

I Found More Problems Today Again

Admob seems to be pretty strict on approving ads and for some strange reason some of the same offer is accepted while some is not just because of how you format your ad.

It’s really frustrating when you are trying to spend money on ads and always getting not approve.

To be frank, I was super not encourage to continue but I will give it a try till my funds of $50 runs out which I think will take 30 days to finish :P

I Find Doing Mobile Marketing Is Far Harder Then Web Based Marketing For Newbies

Here’s the difference I found out

Mobile Marketing

  • Requires optimized mobile pages to promote ( there isn’t much out there! Maybe 100?)
  • Only can advertise via mobile networks
  • Clicks are cheap at $0.05 cent per click but runs really slow
  • You need special service to check the page if you not from USA
  • You need a iphone to check the ad before you promote
  • Lots of CPA offers are not optimized for mobile
  • Mobile squeeze page converts max 5% from my experience

Web Based Marketing Online

  • Lots of CPA offers and products to promote
  • Can easily promote simple squeeze page and no need optimize
  • Online squeeze page converts as high as 50% more from my experience
  • Ad clicks ranges from $0.30 to $0.80 per click depending what you use
  • No need iphone
  • No need knowledge of making optimized squeeze page

Overall, I still feel more comfortable doing web based marketing then mobile so I just started one today and only completed the free guide about it. I will be doing a niche on Forex and see how it goes :) Target to hit 100 leads in 2 weeks by advertising squeeze page.

Mobile Marketing – Case Study 3

Sorry for the late update, as I was not feeling that well and my eye hurt quite bad for the pass two days so I did not open up my Mac for like 2 days to rest my eyes. I guess seeing too much computer may hurt your eyes too :)

Anyways I thought mobile marketing should be easy but I seem to encounter more and more problems along the way. Here’s the first problem below:

Screen shot 2010-08-21 at AM 10.04.28

Alright I managed to get some campaigns approved finally but the sad part it was not running as fast as I wanted it to be. All the campaigns were promoting a CPA offer and so far no sales yet but I am not surprise.

As I will be waiting to see at least 300 clicks from the Admob before I decide to move to another offer or change th Ad copy.

Some Great News

I finally got approved for OfferMobi which is so much better then Peerfly because all the offers in there are only for mobile devices! So I do not have to worry if it’s optimized.

Another great news which I was surprised myself, CJ also just approved me to be in the Pay Per Call offers campaigns which I will be trying out too :)

I will report whatever I can but so far nothing solid to report about as it’s time consuming to create campaigns after campaigns. Should be doing some today after 2 days break and see how things goes from here.

My Target

Make $100 profit in the next 30 days, so far it’s negative figure now as I am also in the learning stage. So if you ask me for advice on choosing CPA offers I will not be sure too until I got something that converts then I can tell you guys more details.

Target to setup at least 15 more campaign offers and will be trying out other advertising networks too as Admob seems to be pretty SLOW!

Mobile Marketing – Case Study 2

Alright here’s what I have done yesterday, I woke up at 9am and started creating campaigns the entire day from 9am all the way to 11pm ( yep I spend 14 hours on it ).

Here’s Overall What I Have Done

  1. I Signup For The Service Proxify and use to to view offers which I cannot view from Singapore, REALLY USEFUL tool!
  2. I use mainly Peerfly CPA network for all my offers since the Mobile Monopoly seems to keep on recommending it and it seems it’s his main CPA network he uses
  3. I setup a total of 5 campaigns and in each campaign I have two ad groups
  4. One ad group to advertise to male only and the other to female only
  5. All of my campaigns were set to advertise to iphone and target to USA only

I went to bed at about 1am and woke up at about 9am and discover the following below:

Screen shot 2010-08-18 at AM 09.45.39

A lot of my ads got disapproved! Real frustrating!

Screen shot 2010-08-18 at AM 09.44.24

Here was the shocking part, most of the campaigns got approved at 12am and when I check at 9am which was 9 hours later, the above screen shot show the ads shown zero impressions! That’s pretty interesting, just because I set it to iphone only.

So I did make some chances now, I switch over to advertise Android, Blackberry & iPhone and hopefully the impressions will increase if not it’s a wasted effort here.

Anyways for those people who live in Asia just like me, I recommend you guys sign up Peerfly as I got approved within 48 hours but I think I was lucky :P

Tips On Signing Up CPA Network

I actually sign up Peerfly twice, once was in 2009 and then I tried again just last week to try my luck but this time the only different I made when I apply was I mention more details about my company and told them I have been doing online business since 2006 making lots of money before :P

So if you do sign up, always mention you have a company and mention you been doing it for a long time and also mention how much you intend to spend on advertising. If you do not have a company make up one :P

Mistakes I Done From Mobile Marketing

Related back to my first case study 1, which I shockingly lost $50 in a few hours with 999 clicks each click was $0.05. The fact it was $0.05 was great but it was only today I realized I made a major mistake in setting up the campaign in Admob.

Instead of advertising to only iphone, ipod and ipad, I accidentally set my campaign to go out to “Target all devices”. And what I guess happen was the ad was shown to all the devices all there which end up the ad running pretty FAST!

So Here’s What I Did That Was Right Below:

Screen shot 2010-08-17 at PM 06.46.11

I guess it was a stupid & painful mistake but it was lucky I spotted it :) Anyways I setup another 3 campaigns, all three leading to an “email submit” CPA offer as I felt it would convert better in terms of $$$ :P

Out of the three campaigns, there was one campaign I direct and copy from Mobile Monopoly proven campaigns and want to see what happens :P Now I am just waiting for approval and see what happens :P

New Services I Like To Recommend

Because I live in Singapore, I had many problems trying to view CPA that is catered for the USA only. So I did some research and found Proxify. It’s an online web based proxy browser which will allow me to view offers in the USA anonymously.

With this ability I was able to now view offers that was not catered for Singapore and allows me to check if the offers were all mobile optimized to run.

You can try out Proxify for free at this link here.

Shocking Mobile Campaign – Case Study 1

I just only setup my campaign at 10pm Singapore time and went to bed and when I woke up @ 7am I got the shocked of my life! Why? Well look at the screenshot below!

Screen shot 2010-08-14 at AM 07.26.29In just only under a few hours, $49.95 was already spend! The conversion to click was not that great but it doesn’t matter because they only charge based on clicks not impressions.

What was so amazing was it served 281,259 times in such a short time, which proofs there are a lot of traffic on mobile :P Further more, I had 999 clicks in such a short time giving me only $0.05 cents per click.

However Did I Made Money?

Well like any other marketer I didn’t made any on my first try and I know that’s normal :) However because I was advertising to a squeeze page it converted at 2.1% which gave me only 21 leads.

To be frank I was shocked by the poor conversions as compared to online browsers, the worst opt-in should convert at 10% or more. I think I work further on improving the squeeze page.

The shocking part was the squeeze page I created was almost the same as what was taught in Mobile Monopoly but it kind of sad Adam did not mention about conversion numbers he had :P Well now I know after spend $50 :P

Another Shocking Thing I Found Out

All the people who opt-in my form, put in real email addresses! Because I set it to be a double opt-in, which means they had to verify their email to get my free tips and how I managed to know that because after they opt in they would see my CPA offer which also had 21 clicks.

The CPA offer did not convert a sale and I wasn’t shocked by it because there was only 21 people looking at it :P

Word Of Caution For People Using Admob

Admob only allows you to set a budget of minimum $50 per day, DO NOT TOP UP more then $50 to your account! Why? Well you just heard from me, I just spend $50 in just hours! The stupid part was, you are NOT ALLOW to set any daily budget lower then $50!

What I Realized From Just This Campaign

When you setup the campaign on Admob, it only allows you to advertise based on type of phone and country. Unlike adwords, you can set based on keywords. Which means the traffic coming in from the banners I advertise may not be targeted as it’s not served to mobile phones based on interest.

So the ad copy will play an important role to filter the right people to click the ad. That maybe the reason why the opt-in rate was really low as I was not promoting entertainment or ring tone related offer. Out of 999 people who clicked the ad only 21 opt-in proofs that most of them maybe clicking the ad just for fun or just wanted to know what’s the free thing I was giving them.

My Next Strategy

My feeling was the niche I was targeting will not be easy to generate cash, so I will be changing to something else and I will trying a direct advertise to a CPA offer instead of an opt-in box too. Most likely will setup two campaigns to try out and see what happens. Wish me luck! If you got tips to share on your experience like the types of offers that converts well on mobile feel free to share below :)

My First Mobile Campaign

Alright in my last post, I actually mention I bought this new product and to date it already sold more then $1 Millions of sales and that’s impressive. If you are wondering what’s the secret to the launch, well two things great big prizes and lots of powerful affiliates with big mailing list :)

Anyways I just completed some updates for my new Atomic Blogging Theme so I had some free spare time today. So I decided to setup my first mobile campaign. Here what I really did, I did buy Mobile Monopoly. I totally skip all the videos in the course that 90% of them were all “How To Videos” for newbies and not much tips provided. So to save time I decided to just go a head and create my first squeeze page and campaign.

Tools & Programs I Used To Create The Campaign

  1. My 27 Inch Mac
  2. Dreamweaver to edit my HTML code
  3. Fireworks to edit and create my banners
  4. Secret PLR Supplier of Articles
  5. Aweber to generate my squeeze page (Click Here For $1 Trial)
  6. Adam’s FREE tool to optimize the squeeze page
  7. Web Hosting to host my squeeze page
  8. Ad Mob To Advertise

Here’s The Detailed Steps I Did To Setup

  1. Setup free articles in the auto responder sequence using PLR articles
  2. Setup the squeeze page
  3. Optimize the squeeze page
  4. Save HTML file and edit with Dreamweaver
  5. Upload to web host
  6. Setup account in Ad Mob
  7. Create campaign
  8. Create banner image for campaign and text

I started doing at 6pm and just completed at 10pm which took me 4 hours to do just one campaign in one niche! It’s quite a lot of work if you ask me :) Anyways it has not started yet as I need to wait for approval, but I have top up $50 into my account to give a try to see if it’s really that cheap in clicks and let you guys know my progress.

I have already given up on PPC and PPV and it proven one to expensive for PPC and for PPV was not targeted. I find facebook ads were converting better and more targeted but this mobile ad is new to me and I want see how much it takes to grow 100 leads from my mobile campaign.

Here’s My Campaign Funnel

Advertise Traffic => Mobile Squeeze => Thank You Page To Related CPA Offer
Mail 1 – Welcome mail with tips
Mail 2 – More tips with CB product promoted

Having gone through the entire process, I personally feel if you are not really comfortable with computers this may take you about 24 hours or more to do. I would advise you to outsource it if possible it’s a lot of work for one campaign only but it will cost lots of money :P
