If you have a blog and wondering to yourself why aren’t you making money? Then you better read every word I got to say in this post as I am about to review to you how I made my income from just one simple tactic but strangely out of 20 blogs I seen only 3 or 4 blogs use them. In fact this element is so important that you cannot share the resource of it and it’s call opt-ins.
Why Opt-Ins Are So Important?
Just think about it, you can sent all your efforts to drive traffic to your blogs but if you do not bother to collect their first and email address would you be able to be in constant contact with your clients or readers?
Building a list for your blog is the single most important element that you blog would need. Another way of calling them are auto responders. However because not many are willingly to invest in good responser tend to use the free ones which are sometimes really unreliable.
The bad thing about using those simple scripted auto responders is that once your database get really huge you will have a hard time trying to figure why aren’t your emails been sent out correctly.
I am currently using GetResponse myself and the great thing about them is that if you are on budget and do not have extra cash you can try out the service for a FREE Trail here. Although there are limitations to the FREE trail version, it’s actually good enough to start with.
So How Do You Collect Leads?
First you have understand that people only will give you a name and email address provided you offer something for FREE. Here are 3 things you can do to get people’s email address
1. Create a free newsletter as an incentive to opt-in
2. Give out a free gift as an incentive to opt-in
3. Subscribing to your blog
A comfortable range if you are thinking of earning a full income online would be a list size of about 1k to 2k would be able to help you earn at least $500 to $2,000 depend how quality your list is. Definitely agree with you regarding building an opt-in list. Personally I use aweber and 1shoppingcart though.
However I foresee the competition getting more and more intense in the IM niches. Unless you are already established or catering to the newbie crowd. You would really need to “sell” the opt-in process…
Though of course for non-IM niches its still pretty easy to get opt-ins. But strangely enough most newbies start off in the IM niches.

What’s the easiest way to add a subscription box to a blog? I assume I have to get a code from my auto-responder - is this right? Is there any script or plugin I can use?
