The Biggiest Secret I Ever Exposed About Making Money Online
Alvin Phang
del.icio.us it! | reddit it! | stumble it!

Hi guys, it’s actually 5am right now as something just came to my mind and I just could not sleep over it and wanted to share with you guys the biggest secret that I ever exposed about making money online. Before you proceed reading this article do remember to click here to subscribe to my blog :)

So What Is This Big Secret Alvin?

I was reading through some reviews of what people were talking about me on other blogs and some of them already have guess it right. We do not just making money online just from blogging. If you noticed all popular blogs online had multiple streams of income from various sources :) I wish I can show them to you guys but that will basically kill my own business as some of the online business I do are really that niche that if I exposed out to the public I am basically asking for more competition ( so you cannot really blame any marketer for not exposing their trade secrets :) ). That is just one part of the secret, the next big secret is….

People Love To Buy Hyped Up Products

This is no surprised people love to buy information products online because marketers would always try to promise the overwhelming results with so called “shortcuts” to success to make money online just to give you an impression you get to make money really fast. But the truth is there is no such thing as shortcuts, I been doing this for 2 years now and I very well know there is no such thing as a “quick fix” to make money online fast! If you are still thinking there is such a thing please stop thinking that way.

But the question also some of you guys may be thinking, if I say all these products that is so hyped up people still buy them do that actually work? Well the TRUTH IS THEY DO MOST OF THE TIME! I truly believe every digital information product out there is a good product but the problem does not lies in the product creator but the problem only lies IN YOU! The truth is SYSTEM ALWAYS WORK, PEOPLE DONT! You will be surprised some of the things I learn from blogging I actually learn them from really cheap $7 ebooks that you will see the same information in expensive programs too :P With 2 years of experience of selling digital information and coaching I realized that most people who bought my stuff are not getting the results they want is because they did not spent the time to actually try it to get results.

Especially so when I created Atomic Blogging , there were numerous people who did benefit from the product and get really great results that I even had hundred of great testionmials to back up my claims of my products :) But of course we cannot satisfy everyone, to be frank there are also a small of group of people who simply say it did not work for them, simply because to be really frank not to offend anyone here but they are just plain lazy to try it out and just simply refund it and worst of all email me say my system dont work :( ( but why it worked for hundreds of others who tried it, pretty strange huh? :) )

Back to hype marketing, is doing hype marketing really ethical? Well to be really frank I did not like the idea of hyping stuff at first but I realized it is actually alright to hype some stuff as long as you are not lying :) And it’s important to learn how to hype stuff up to brand yourself as an expert that the reason why I am writing this article to teach you how :)

How Do People Hype Stuff Up?

The first type of hype I ever learn in experience is to learn how to play around with sales number and commission. Some of you guys may not like this, but all I want to do here is to exposed to you the truth behind how we hype stuff so that you are aware what we do :) Very often in selling information products especially so when it comes to products that says you can make huge lots of money we would always show really nice cheque figures.

Are these figures for real? Well in most cases yes ( because you can actually can sued for lying or posting fake claims :P ), but some of you guys may not be aware the cheques shown may be totally not related to what the guy is actually selling on. For instance if someone claim they make huge cheques from a program and show wondering cheques of his earning. However the truth fact sometimes the money cheques shown is actually coming from promoting another programs that was much more successful. Basically what we do is to recycle the cheques screen shots to be display to make your money cheques “look nicer”.

Are they lying? Well not really, you can still use them but all you need to do is to craft your sales copy to say like “Here Are The Cheques I Made Online” but did you noticed I did not say where it’s from :) So that’s a small example what is hype marketing about, you only expose some potion of the story but not the entire whole story or you take something that is actually a really small thing but just that you blown up on some facts you have :)

Some Exampls Of Hype People Do

  • I Earn Well Over US$5,600 In 7 Days Online
    • Fact: He really earn that US$5,600 but what some do not know he has spent US$4,000 on PPC to make that earnings :P
  • I Generate Well Over 500,000 Hits In 7 Days With No Leads, No List, No Money
    • He has a pool of joint ventures mailing his website with each person with at least 10,000 or more list :P

So as you can see from the examples above, you will noticed hyping is about making a story big but simply you dont exposed the entire truth behind all claims you want to do you just exposed the good side of it :P However if you feel this is really unethical that I strongly don’t recommend you do it, but what I want to say is everyone online who sells digital information is doing it and sooner or later you will realized if you want to make really big money online you have to do it sooner or later :P
Why Do You Want To Learn How To Hype Stuff Up?

If you are thinking of making really lots of money online, it’s not doubt a fact that people love to buy info products that is really hyped up! However, let me give you some warning when you hype things up DO NOT GO OVER THE LINE and lie you will get backfire and simply bring your business down!

Here are some tips and rules in doing hype

  1. Always and ALWAYS only show real cheques
  2. Never lie about your earnings, people will know!
  3. Show sales figures rather then net amount to make your earning larger
  4. Show earning spikes that you have earn in short periods of time, example I earn US$5,000 in 7 days but make sure you have the screen shot to prove it
  5. Always use screen shots to prove yourself
  6. Be honest if possible

For those of you who are currently doing Internet Marketing would think I am crazy enough to exposed such a big trade secret but my aim here is to exposed to you the real secret behind all those big launches and so called big claims of millions. My mentor used to teach me this “Fake It Till You Made It” , until today I have to frankly admit to you I still do it sometimes but just dont lie you should be fine :)

Alright I think I have exposed more then I should have already to be in huge trouble :) If you like this article and love to get more tips on making money online from me, do remember to subscribe to my blog by clicking here . Hi Alvin,

what a great post - refreshingly honest, and it’s doubtless caused a few raised eyebrows among your readers. Some of the techniques used to hype a product are quite shameful, and don’t do the industry as a whole much good - if people learn to ignore positive statements about products, because of having read too many exaggerations, marketing genuinely good products becomes ever more difficult.

I would change your sixth bullet point in your ‘tips and rules’ to remove ‘if possible’ - it should just say “Be Honest”

Dishonesty doesn’t pay in the long term, because people like to do business with good, honest people with integrity. Why give your money to someone you don’t trust?

Hmmm, seems to me I read some of this somewhere before. Are you on my list Alvin? LOL..Just joking. Actually I couldn’t agree more. Honesty is always the best way to go about things. In my opinion, by being completely honest with people it will do your whole business a world of good in the long run. People don’t need to be led astray, and it’s unfortunate that so many people are in this industry. That said, great post Alvin!

Cheers and take care,
Davin

Good article, Alvin,

I’d like to suggest, also, that people who read it go back and actually re-read it to understand what it is you said. The only reason hype which ‘cross the line’ works is that people read but don’t gte the meaning of what they read … they supply their own.

I would be richer thna Alvin Phang ;-) if I had a dollar for every person I have heard complain about how Darren Rowse “says” he makes a six-figure income from AdSense on problgger.net. I’ve geard people denounce him as a fraud or even worse.

Yet if you check what Darren has written and released to the public, he _never_ said such a thing. He claims to make six-figures plus from AdSense _and_other_advertisers_ across several blogs he operates and Problogger is never the eranings leader. Readers sometimes create their own hype by adding 2 plus 2 and getting 5. Marketers out there? Be honstes. Readers out there? Check your math!

Yeah, I did buy on hypes too.

However after tons of purchases I realized that you need more than just one “secret” or system to succeed or even get you off the ground.

While every marketer wanted you to believe that their “system” is the best and works, you surely need more than just that.

And when they say “system”, it’s hardly a complete one. They usually give you a mini version of the whole thing and you wonder why you can’t really follow. I never find any $47 50-page ebook that can guide you to make $1,000 in one month.

Imagine how much training someone in the offline world need to take in order to earn $1,000 a month. Definitely he needs to fork out more than a mere $47 and months if not years of his time.

And they say you don’t take ACTION :)

It really depends what you buy… so far every ebook I bought has worked for me wonders.. maybe I guess you just bought the wrong books I guess :) But anyway it’s all about taking action and trying it out..

You say Alvin: “I did not like the idea of hyping”…
well, that nails what I do in my blog in general: I don’t like hyping so I don’t do it.

So I don’t make sales…

Luckely I don’t like earning little either, so something will change

I should have got the message when you asked for hits… I agree that the truth is always out there, but you need to find where :-)

Hey Alvin

A refreshingly honest post…

“Fake It Till You Make It” is imperative for any newbie but just don’t over cook it. I thought it was IBM that followed that model in their beginnings… It worked for them!

Any newbie has to be confident in their marketing… It is hard to get traction in the beginning… Just keep it honest… so you can sleep at night!

I suppose we all have different levels of honesty and sometimes it gets frustrating to have put in a massive amount of effort and not be making the money we thought we would.

Hype is necessary… we are all searching daily for something to excite us. So when that sales letter promises a pot of gold, the excitement starts pumping through our veins… only to be let down by the product - not because it’s a bad product, but because it takes work. :(

Then the next launch starts… and up goes the excitement level, again… We vaguely remember the last product gathering dust on our book shelves. We get the product and “OH NO” we have to work to get the product to provide the returns…

Fast forward 2 or 3 years later, 6, 8 or 10 products later… The penny drops… just take one strategy, focus and work on it, ignore the other stuff and BINGO it all happens !!

But it seems that every newbie has to go through the same cycle. You can tell them not to do it… But they will!

And 6, 8 or 10 products later they’ll realize the first product they bought had all the information they really needed… it just needed implementation.

Have fun

Hi Alvin

It’s very good info for people to be aware first before they purchase. Most sellers focus too much on how to make the maximum amount and less on the buyer’s true benefit. Hyping genuinely with good intentions is good but hyping for profits alone is not.

To all buyers looking for online products: ‘Put your thoughts to good things and good intentions and good offers will be in alignment for you to take’

God Bless You Alvin.

Hi Alvin,

Great sharing. Well, this is what marketing world is all about. We simply could not satisfy everyone. Some people make it but some people don’t.

The important point is Taking Action. No Action, No Result. Let others do what they think they want to do. But for us let be focus and do what work best for us. Upon time, they will know who & what is right and who & what is wrong.

As for me, your product does help me a lot. My other blog is also getting the free traffic as you said. I have 2 blogs using yr strategy and both show results with different perspective.

So in whatever you are doing, just have focus and take action. Then result will be on your way.

Cheers to you Alvin and have a great weekend.

Having read your comments, I used to read alot of many programs and I believe all their earning are not truely at all. Like what you said they hayped it till they make it.

I like the line you stated ” FAKE IT TILL YOU MADE IT”. I am wondering do you really need to do it. How many times can you made it and how many times can you to it. I believe in life ” HONESTY IS THE BEST POLICY”.

I cannot blamed those guys that doing it. They go all out to make big money. After all, every one of us need money to survive and to have a comfortable roof for shelter.

I was scamed two years ago when I started online and hopping to earn quick money. I was very desperated when I lost my job. Now that I had learn to be much smarter to look for valued added programs.

Hi Alvin,

A good blog post! Lucid and honest. I totally agree with you that there is no shortcut. At the end, it all boils down to what kind of effort you want to put into whatever you do.

A miracle ever occurred for me - in fact two miracles - which is how I put up 2 lenses on Squidoo in highly competitive markets. And I got them into the top 10 spots in the first week! But man, it was really hard work and I guess the hard work paid off!

Here they are incase you are interested to check them out.

Hi,

I couldn’t agree more. A famous trick is to display a headline such as “I Earned $5,000 In One Week”, when in fact the EARNINGS were nowhere near that number (because of your point about PPC costs etc.). That brings me onto my second and main point, often the TIME and the cost of that time to implement these strategies is very often SEVERELY underestimated, especially if you are learning the ropes.

There was a big launch just this week where the guy stated all this could be done in a couple of hours. From my experience online (I’ve been online for 10 years) I knew what he was talking about would really take a couple of DAYS. No wonder newbies get so disillusioned, there is just so much BULL S–T out there. Nice to see such honesty coming through, maybe we should start some sort of Honest Internet Marketers Club.

Now, there’s an idea, it’s just such a shame that most of the ‘gurus’ wouldn’t be allowed membership, present company excepted.

More power to youe elbow!!

All the best, Allen

If am not wrong I refunded about 10 to 20 informtion products till now, just not sure how many, but I know i brought more then 10 information product some almost cost up till $200 USD….

Atomic blogging has work for me, so Alvin you will never see my refund…:) and also thanks for the great product.

Hi Alvin,

Interesting blog post and very right on !!

Maybe believing none of what you read and only half of what you hear or see should be adopted in Internet Marketing.

Whatever the seller did is not relevant .. you have to do the work .. then you get the rewards !!

Hopefully the seller is providing a product that will really help you to “get the work done” and then you will succeed.

There is no “magic button”

Good to hear you telling things the way they really are !!

All the best,

Harry Crowder

Just sharing why I got to hang around your blog Allen Alvin, a combination of 2 honest infos:

-Your clickbank cheque (no matter how much it could be hyped, cheques don’t lie)
-Your visitors count: people can always fool a counter, but…

When your visitors count was less than mine but your earnings were more, you got me hooked!

I do have another hype question though: before you got hacked it said somewhere you were ranking 1 for making money online in Asia… you never showed exactly where that was actually
