some key elements I have learn from Tony Robbins today. Yes he is HERE in SINGAPORE and I am glad I was there to see him LIVE how powerful he was. Lots of people think they do not need self improvements, believe me without self improvement I would not be where I am today =) I was sitting down as a listener today at the event for 3 hours and here are the few things I learn today from Tony Robbins.

He was a very muscular person and he seems to work out a lot with a VERY powerful voice to his speech. As a listener I was there with one thing in mind and that was to learn why is Tony Robbins the World’s No.1 Success Coach. So when he came in, he just kept making us saying the word “I” for some reason. Trying to use NLP with the audience, he is really the MASTER of NLP as he got us pump up by inputing questions and repeatedly saying I.

What I realized while listening I did not say “I”s at first as I was studying his moments and the way he talks, but after a while because he kept on making us say “I”s and even got us to stand to clap and all. For some reason after a while I found myself saying “I”s too.. haha.

After talking to us for 1 hour or so and making us STAND for about 40 minutes which I seriously did not felt anything as I was enjoying myself he slowly but carefully input some important points to be successful.

He said this quote “If you want to be successful it takes 80% of your mindset and 20% mechanism to be successful.” Which in turn translates that in order to be successful in life we first have to have a powerful mindset =)

And in order to change your mindset he said you first need to know how to change your state of mind. And pointed that our state of mind is equal to behavior divide by action. However to improve further the state of mind you need two thing which he mention are focus and physiology. It was kind of confusing for me at first but it took me a while to understand after I listen more from him.

And he listed there are 3 factors that we constantly look at when making decisions everyday

1. What are you going to focus on?
2. What does it mean?
3. What are you going to do?

And he was right! In fact everything we do everyday is based on these three simple thoughts. So the main thing he pointed out of this was if you want to be at one place or achieve something all you need to do is focus on it.

However thoughts can only be thoughts unless we actually take action on it and another thing I learn was you can do a motion unless you have an emotion for you. For example how can you laugh if you are not smiling, smiling is an action =)

One of my favorite quotes from him which I truly agree a lot is “Who you hang out with is who you become!” That’s really truth =)

He also shared there are 5 factor you can do to increase your success in life and they are

1. Raise your standards!
2. Change your limiting believes!
3. Model the strategies that works
4. Increase your emotional intensity to train and build up your emotional muscles!
5. Give more then you expect to receive!

And I was like WOW! I actually did 1 to 5 before myself and I seriously love point number 5 the MOST! And it is truth the more I give and share on my blog I noticed there is a much increase of exposure of my blog to others online! People love what I write =)

The last pointer he highlighted before he left also he also shared the success cycle and this is how it looks like

Potential => Actions => Results => Belief Attitude (And from here goes back to Potential)

Tony explain that in life when you want to be successful these are the 4 factors you will always go through in life. First you have a potential or maybe getting a good idea in your mind, after so you decided to take action on it and you will get results. What results you get will determine the belief and attitude you will gain from that experience and depending if your belief grows your thinking potential will increase!

Here’s a video from Tony himself enjoy =)

Hi Alvin,
Outstanding. Glad that you get to see Anthony Robbins live. I’m a fan of him and I model after him, especially on emotional mastery.
I’ve done some postings about what I learnt from him ( since 2001).

Great post on Anthony Robbins Alvin. I attended his 3 day seminar in Malaysia a few years back and it was really good. But I do admit that the “walking on fire” thingy that he holds for his 3 day seminars was abit overhyped though.

Nonetheless it was from then onwards that my belief system was totally transformed. And without saying it has served me very well

I know alot of people treat self improvement is mumbo jumbo or some positive thinking rubbish. But I would sincerely recommend anyone to at least grab one of Anthony Robbin’s books or courses if they cannot afford to attend his seminar. He’s the real deal and it will transform your life if you apply his techniques.

you are realy lucky to see him, i can’t wait to get my chance.

“Give more then you expect to receive!” - have noticed that from your blog, and that is the reason i keep coming back. You might have more hype than my style, but you do ad some good value.

Have you used Personal Power II ?

Good post. Tonny Robbins is very popular here in the U.S. He speaks at many success seminars and always offers good advice on the importance of self improvement and maintaining a success attitude.
