Get More Traffic With Joint Ventures

Alvin Phang

If you have not heard of joint venture before, this article is a must read for you as it will make or break your online business. There are many ways to drive traffic online but joint venture is THE most powerful traffic tactic there is.

That is why I decided to spent some time before I am about to report to camp :( to tell you more about joint venture.

What Is A Joint Venture?

Simply put, it’s a join agreement where two party come together and work together to help each other business. There are various types of joint ventures and here are a list of them:

  1. A Cross Joint Venture - you promote him, he promotes you in return
  2. Joint Venture Project - you work with someone together and come out a project together
  3. Joint Promotion Venture - you offer value bonus to product owner and work with him to get a special package for your customers.

I have done all three above before and I would say doing the 1st one is the best among all the types of joint ventures.

How Can Joint Ventures Build Your Business?

For instance, you got know a new person called Mr.X with 10,000 email database. You decided to work with him to do a cross promotion, he promote his database to your product and you promote his product. When this happens, both parties not only makes money but also increases the amount of subscribers database each person have :)

That is exactly how those big gurus make millions of dollars in a few hours with JVs with more then 100,000 list it’s impossible not to make any $$$ :P

Well my time is short, I like to share more about how you can go about to find these JV partners and how you can craft the email to invite them. If you like to find out more, I will need to see you comment on the post below what you like to know more and just hit me with a reply “yes I want to know more!” :)

This is a real common problem for many people online who wish to make money online. It’s no doubt that buying great guides to help you is a good thing but what I realized is that there are many people online simply just love buying information and not reading through them.

Honestly speaking, I am also guilty of this as I just recently bought two guides and have not even got a chance to read it yet even. Here are some common problems people faced in real life:

  1. They bought the ebook but have not gone through it
  2. They bought so many ebooks they forget what they bought
  3. They bought many ebooks on different topics and do not know which to start on and complain information overload
  4. They do not have time to read them

Buying Is Also An Important Part Of Your Success

It is always recommended to learn from some one successful and duplicate their success. However, it’s not truth that even if you follow every single step the Guru teaches you, you will get the same results. It really depends how consistent you are with doing the work.

It is not recommended for anyone to start on an online business within any help from any expert as if you do it yourself you will face lots of problems and issues along the way.

Selecting A Proftiable Niche

Alvin Phang

Hi guys, you got to forgive me if I type something wrong as I just taken my medicine and feel a bit drowsy so if I mistype something please forgive me :)

I think this topic will generate lots of interest for you guys as I get lots of emails people always asking and saying they have problems selecting a profitable niche.

First Thing What Is A Niche?

Well it’s simply it’s a small portion of a market within a huge market. For instance, you are in a market place where people sell lots of food and food has a huge range of food. But instead of selling everything like a supermarket you decided to be specialized and sell only raw fish. Selecting your market in the fish market compared to a big market has it advances only when there is a demand for the niche.

Benefits Of Being In A Niche Of A Niche

Using the example above, if my store only sell raw fish will my store have a widen range of fishes compared to a giant supermarket. Well chances are you will, and the best part because you are specialized in only selling fish people who want to buy fish. People will look for you first before going for the rest because you can also give more competitive prices for your customers.

The trick in selecting a niche, you must always learn to focus only on the niche and nothing else. It’s real common for anyone to be distracted and look into other things.

Selecting Your Profitable Niche

I selected my niche in blogging way back 2 and 1/2 years ago and I can tell you it was not an easy one. At that time, everything thought blogging is useless and can never be profitable. However, I knew something that many others did not know and I knew the trend of blogging will grow by 2 times in 1 year’s time and I was right :) The demand for blogging today is much more then before.

Do take note, when it comes to selecting a niche, there must be a demand for it and there must be people online willing to spend on it.

So here’s a check list you can use in helping you to select your niche:

  1. What is the future thread of the niche you are selecting?
  2. What are the countries that has a demand for this niche?
  3. Are people willing to spend money in the niche? (very important)
  4. How much are they willing to spend?
  5. How much demand in terms of hits per month are there on Google?
    (recommended 10,000 and above)
  6. Are there people already selling products in your niche?
    - If there is, how many products there are and what’s the selling price

To help you find out on demand from Google, you can use Google’s New Insight which I wrote an article right here showing you how to use it. That will give you some guideline on your market.

Warning Not Every Niche Is Profitable Online

You do have to take note that not every niche you select will be a sure win. You have do some split testing to test your niche and product that you are selling is profitable.

It advisable to stay in a niche for at least 6 months before you decide to move on to the next thing OR ELSE you will END UP failing like 90% of other marketers around the world. Just remember the key to success is consistency :)

I have been coaching people since Jan 2007 onwards and I have vast amount of experiences handling students when I conduct classes. I thought it would be great to share with you some of my real experiences on conducting training if you are considering giving some form of trainings services.

No.1 Myth In Training - Not Every Student Will Be Successful & Willing To Work

It’s a real sad fact, that out of every 100 students that you coach regardless what you teach only 1 to 2% of them will be willing to do the work. That is the reason at most times, you do not see students are all successful in courses. The problem most times do not lies on the trainer but most times is the student.

So just a word of caution do not expect your students to work all that hard for their own success even thought you put all the hard work to support them. The success rate for any course isĀ  normally only 1%.

People Take Your Services For Granted If You Are Too Nice

It’s really a weird reality when at most times, trainers who do not give real good training and followups always tend to get more attention compared to trainers who are really concern for students.

Here’s what happen during my trainings, I would normally go the extra mile to conduct private one on one coaching with students out of my spare time. But what I realized later on, most students will take for granted the service I provide which I do not charge at all and worst case some of them even got the guts to ask for refund even thought they know themselves they did not do anything :(

So the trick here is try not to be too nice to your customers, they may take your services for granted. One way to make them value your time, always explain to them that this private session actually cost $XXX.

Customers Are Hard To Please, Especially Those That Refuse To Do Anything But Just Complain

In my experience, I have suffered two cases of this and I can tell you it really break me to tears that I spend so much time preparing quality materials but people just simply take it for granted.

People who refused to do anything are the most scary students of all. For this breed of people, it always advisable to ensure they sign documents to ensure they have seen all the documents and trainings needed or they will claimed they did not go but actually they did ( yes it happens and they will later ask for refunds but actually they are just pretending to find a reason for refund ).

Things I Do To Solve This Problems

First thing I would do is make it very CLEAR to your students what they have done and what they should do to get the result they want. Most often, students will not realized they did nothing or were plain lazy to do it and blame it all on the trainer.

Once they realized the problem, you will need to advise them to TAKE ACTION which is important. I used to spoon feed my students a lot to a point, they totally did not want to do anything at all (it’s quite frastrating at times)

Conducting Training Requires Lots Of Patience

Regardless how newbie a student can be, always learn to be patience with them and do not bare anger on them. Just remember a happy customer for you means more referrals for you :)

I hope this article will at least give you some heads up on how it really feels to conduct trainings. To be frank, I was just pissed off today with one of student and just wanted to write this article out hehe :)

Convert Your Text To Voice With Odiogo

Alvin Phang

I just recently added a new featured to my blog which I have added a new plugin to convert all my blog post to voice with the free service called Odiogo.

The conversion to audio may sound a bit weird in some phrases but I would say it’s fairly quite ok and it’s a free service anyway so I am not complaining :) To hear the audio, just click on the listen now button above to listen to how Odiogo converts this blog post to audio automatically.

Would love to hear your feedback on this new feature, so do post your comments below on the quality of the audio :)

The Truth Behind Video Marketing

Alvin Phang

I was looking through my support tickets and I too also sell video materials on blogging but I learn something new from that experience selling video tutorials. Many gurus out there would teach you that giving videos to your customers is a good thing but let you give you some heads up what you might not know or Gurus dont want you to know :)

About Video Marketing

Video marketing is simply, taking a screen capturing software and start recording yourself over the computer and upload them online to let your readers view them.

It is actually fairly simple to do them but what I realized it’s really hard to pass your message across to someone especially if you are an Asian.

Your Customers From The USA or UK Will Experience Problems

Because of my special english and the way I speak it right here in Singapore, you will realized when you start selling your own video materials using your voice they will find it really hard to understand what you are trying to say.

Mainly I would say because we Asians in general like to speak pretty fast, so people from America will find it hard to understand us.

You Will Be Suprised Even An Amercian Voice Recorded Video Has Problems

If you do not have a nice and clear voice tone, I do not recommend you do any video recording of your own and start selling those videos. You will be suprised even Amercians also find them hard to understand and all that will leaded to an unhappy customer.

So How Do You Solve This Problem?

Well I just got to learn about this, instead of selling videos you want to provide lots of text to complicment your video. Making it more like a text based guide then a video guide.

Outsource The Voice Recording

Anyway to solve the problem is by outsourcing it to professionals who charge pretty high to do voice overs for your videos.

So the next time, you consider creating a video of your own do remember to take my advice above :) I just wished someone would have told me this earlier :P

This was actually asked by Ben Pei in one of my previous post where he asked “how do you gain credibility if you are just starting out?” So I thought I would like to share with you some easy tips on how to interest your credibility.

Regardless if you have a website, blog or thinking of creating a product. Credibility is the most important factor in any form of business. That is because people buy people not products. So your image to people in the public is really important.

I started off as a no one 2 years ago and today I have build much credibility from many experts stating that I am an expert in blogging so in this article I am going to teach you how you can too position yourself as an expert even though you think you do not have any skills.

Rule No.1 - Find A Niche You Want To Be Expert In

Before you start off getting credibility for yourself, you first need to choose a niche that you like to be specialized in. The no.1 problem here is, most people cannot decide what they can be an expert with. My advice to you is just simply choose something you like the most and take that as your expert niche.

Next, Start Claiming You Are An Expert In The Niche

Alright, now that you have select what you want to be an expert in. It’s time to tell everyone you know you are an expert in that niche. The reason you want to do that is NO ONE will point out to you and say you are expert in something unless you start to claim it yourself.

You must be confident in saying that you are the expert and quote some tips and results to proof them that you are the expert.

Getting Start To Be An Expert By Posting Articles On Article Directories

Here’s a great tip to get you started to position yourself as an expert. Start by going to article directories and post articles in there. For some article directories once you have hit a amount of article they would even give you an expert status. For example, EzineArticles would give authors an expert status once they have written 10 articles.

So next time when people ask you, who says you are an expert in that niche. You can just simply show them EzineArticles with your expert status :)

Get More Credibility By Asking You Friends To Endorse Your Work

Because no one will know you the most expert your closest friends. So what you can do in your about me page in your website or blog is to ask your friends post some testimonials or tips you have taught your friends about in that niche.

I know this may sound evil, you can even create the testimonial in advance for your friend and all you need to do is ask him for permission to put his name :P

Buy Reviews From Credible People

I did once before when I first start and what I did was I paid for a review done by popular bloggers around the blogsphere. After they have written the review, I would use that review as part of my testimonials for my products or website :P

I would say these tips that I shared are really practice by me and they really work and it’s important to have credibility as you can charge more once you position yourself good enough :)
