Is Video Marketing That Effective ?

Many marketers online and bloggers around the Internet has used it and even claim it converts customers better. What am I talking about? Well it’s video marketing. I have been playing around with video marketing for some time but what I can say about video marketing is that it is not as effective as what you may have thought.

Here Are Some of The Types of Video You Can See Online

- Comedy Videos
- Tutorial Videos
- Pitching Videos
- Gossip Videos
- Self Improvement Videos
- Movie Videos
and much more…

Most of the videos that runs online are pretty impressive with nice sound effects and graphics but what I realized is that most often videos require users to press the play button in order to video the video clip and that is actually consider as one action.

Here’s Are Some of The Pros of Video Marketing

- Builds more creditability for your business
- Allows your readers to know who you are in person
- Able deliver your message in a much clearer with visual
- Helps keeps your readers stay on your blog a longer time

Cons of Video Marketing

- Time consuming
- Not many people would bother to press the play button ( You will be suprised when you track stuff )
- Need to learn complicating programs to learn how to edit the video

For blogging aspect, I have many videos posted here in my blog but what I realized there were be more people reading a post compared to playing a video based on my tracking results. From first hand experience it will normally take me about 1 hour of my time to create just a 20 minute video tutorial. However sometimes it can be very disappointing when out of 300 people who reads a post only about 50 to 100 people would bother to play the video.

So How Do You Get More People To View Your Video?

Here’s a simple but yet evil trick you can do to make your readers view your video. When the page loads on your blog or website, you do a auto play of the video and force the viewer to see your video. Or you can say there is a hidden code in the video you can claim a FREE gift.. haha.

In most cases when you view video messages sent by Gurus and especially so when they say that video is really good. If you are smart enough to go to the direct link where you can find the video in YouTube you will be able to see how many people actually view such videos. It would normally hit in the range of 2,000 to 10,000 which is really peanuts compared to other videos you see in Youtube that goes by the Millions! What differentiate them is that one video is pure pitching the other is for entertainment =)

Alvin you might have a point on your post about video marketing but from my own research and from what I have read from different articles video marketing is another way to really further your point towards your readers or visitors. Some might not play on your video maybe due to poor content of what you may be introducing to your readers.

Although its time consuming but still its worth the time to do it if it increases traffic to your site. Its the strategy of entrepreneurs to incorporate to their site to enhance or boost traffic, there is also adsense and adwords and PPC strategy to increase our monetary outcome to our sites.

Thanks for the information about video marketing.. some may work for us while others wont.

    Keep it up

Hi guys, hope to add my 2 cents worth. Personally I feel that video marketing is good for physical products. Of course I am not talking about funny or personal videos. I really can’t imagine doing video marketing for a digital product that I got in Clickbank. Unless I am wrong which I hope you guys can feel free to share with me. Cheers.

  3. Never tried to build brand with videos, but i sure as heck have used it to get lots of trafic, which converts quite well.

Video == crap for building brand, but good for gettting views.

I see. Except binding clickbank’s links within your contant on your blog. Do you use any other medium like adwords? If so, will you provide more information about putting ads like adwords in the future?

    Hi Alvin,

I have been wondering for long time where did you promote your clickbank affiliate? I can’t find anywhere that you promote their products.
